One important tip for cs noobs from a Japanese drifter which helped a lot is to ensure that if you are overdriving the rear end, make sure that it is not spinning any faster than before you do the mod. This is really helpful when you are just starting. By doing that, you are pretty much underdriving the front a rear overdriven car. Confused yet?
Here is my complete setup.
TA05 version 1
Novak 10.5
Spool--Center Oneway--Spool
Shocks: Front softer than rear
Camber: a lot
cvd: Front: 44mm (gangster camber) Rear: 48mm(stock)
Pulleys:
Front: 36/18 (TA05version1/IFS-R or 3racing)
Rear: 32/25 (TA04/Activehobby version 2)
Ratio: 36/18 = 2 | 32/25 = 1.28 | 2/1.28 = 1.5625 | 56.25% overdrive | EPA at 50%
My EPA setting is higher now, but that setting is definitely easier for newbie.
Steering mod. Pretty much a requirement for cs drifting. This is a very simple mod, no special parts required and is applicable to most chassis. Combine this mod with a bit of toe-in and you get zero ackerman. (Steel CVD required)
Sanded it down a bit to clear the c-hub.
6 degrees c-hub from TA04 was used. (TA04 upright and c-hub are inter-changeable with TA05 version 1)
Activehobby countersteer kit version 2. It raised the center pulleys and is not compatible with any upper decks
Front and rear suspension settings.
Front toe in stabilize the car and gets rid of ackerman . Rear 1 degree toe in.
Weighted the esc, motor, receiver, servo and lipo to get better left/right balance.
Overall front weight bias.
